The Russian bass Mikhail Golovushkin is a member of the ensemble at the Stanislavsky Opera in Moscow where up to date he has appeared in no less then twenty-nine roles. He also accompanied this theatre on their tours to Estonia, Greece, China and Israel.

Being also busy on the concert platform throughout Russia, he has only recently been discovered abroad when he became a finalist of the Montreal International Music Competition where, despite not being awarded a prize, he enjoyed very positive reactions by the press. They wrote: “Also overlooked was Russian bass Mikhail Golovushkin. He spent three rounds giving us undeniably beautiful sound, with a level of care and finesse in his technique that is hard to find among true basses. Golovushkin didn't place, either, which was a real shame.” And “at his relatively young age, he already shows a fully mature voice. Tall and handsome, he also looks believable in typical bass roles”.

Mikhail Golovushkin received his musical education at the Moscow Conservatory College of Music and P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, also in Moscow.
